We invite applications for the following PhD and postdoctoral positions:

PhD Position for Metalorganic Precursor Synthesis in UniCat Research Field A1 "Bridging Model Systems to Real Catalysis-Oxidative Coupling of Methane":
Prerequisites for a successful application are a diploma or master degree (equivalent to a German diploma) in the field of chemistry. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research field, should be highly motivated and should have a strong background in molecular synthesis (organometallic chemistry/coordination chemistry/catalysis). The work is devoted to the synthesis of single-source precursors for Li-containing Magnesium Oxide Supports.

PhD Position for Organometallic Synthesis in UniCat Research Field A3 "Hierarchical Organized Solid Catalysts": Prerequisites for a successful application are a diploma or master degree (equivalent to a German diploma) in the field of chemistry. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research field, should be highly motivated and should have a strong background in molecular synthesis (organometallic chemistry/coordination chemistry/catalysis). The work is devoted to the synthesis of molecular molybdenum model systems and catalysts capable of C-H activation of alkanes and for a better understanding of primary steps.

PhD Position for Organometallic Synthesis in UniCat Research Field A4 "Consecutive Catalysis for Fine Chemical Synthesis": Prerequisites for a successful application are a diploma or master degree (equivalent to a German diploma) in the field of chemistry. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research field, should be highly motivated and should have a strong background in molecular synthesis (organic synthesis/organometallic chemistry/coordination chemistry/catalysis). The work is devoted to the synthesis of multifunctional carbenes, silylenes and related low-valent phosphorus compounds as novel steering ligands for stereoselective processes in homogeneous catalysis.

PhD Position for Bioinorganic Coordination Chemistry in
UniCat Research Field A5 "Linking Homogeneous and Biocatalysis": Prerequisites for a successful application are a diploma or master degree (equivalent to a German diploma) in the field of chemistry and biochemistry. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research field, should be highly motivated and should have a strong background in molecular synthesis (organic synthesis/organometallic chemistry/coordination chemistry/bioinorganic chemistry/catalysis). The work is devoted to the synthesis of model compounds for the nickel-iron hydrogenase cofactor. The structural models are key for understanding the structure-reactivity relationship of the natural enzyme systems.

Postdoctoral Position for Bioinorganic Chemistry in UniCat Research Field A5 "Linking Homogeneous and Biocatalysis": Prerequisites for a successful application are a PhD degree in the field of chemistry/biochemistry. Applicants are expected to be enthusiastic about working in an interdisciplinary and challenging research field, should be highly motivated and should have a strong background in molecular synthesis (organic synthesis/organometallic chemistry/coordination chemistry/bioinorganic chemistry/biochemistry). The work is devoted to the synthesis of novel bio-inspired, heteropolymetallic complexes capable of hydrogen evolution from water or other protic sources.
